ChristianaCare Union Hospital offers comprehensive breastfeeding support to patients, employees and our community. You do not have to deliver here to utilize these services. Prenatal and postpartum support is provided. Prenatal education is offered through our Saturday Express Childbirth Education Class. Women who take a prenatal breastfeeding class are more likely to achieve breastfeeding success. If this is not your first pregnancy, you can request a prenatal visit to discuss breastfeeding with our lactation consultant.
Postpartum support is offered via phone consultations, through telehealth visits, outpatient visits or in a group setting. For details or assistance, please see the contact information below. We offer a support group called TLC: The Lactation Club. you can find the link to our Facebook group below. The nursing staff has received advanced education related to breastfeeding. Certified breastfeeding counselors are also on staff to help you establish the breastfeeding relationship you desire.
