Speeding recovery, supporting health

Cancer patients have different nutritional needs and concerns.

The right diet can speed the healing process and help keep patients strong. In fact, studies show that cancer patients with poor nutrition have a higher mortality rate.

However, eating the right foods is only part of the story.

Certain cancer treatments can cause side effects, such as nausea, that decrease appetite. As a result, the body may not get the nutrients it needs at a crucial time.

Our cancer care team supports patients with nutritional counseling. A food bank provides additional help at a time when many patients’ financial resources are strained.
