The Behavioral Health Department uses a team approach to patient care that begins when the patient presents in the Emergency Department with a need for Crisis Intervention Services. Working collaboratively with referring health care providers the specialized staff of Union Hospital, behavioral health nurses provide multiple services for the psychiatric patient including crisis intervention, inpatient hospitalization and intensive outpatient care. The goal of the Behavioral Health Department is to help the patient return to the community better equipped to cope with the challenges of daily living through an individualized treatment plan.
