ChristianaCare Wound Care at Elkton provides technically advanced, surgical and non-surgical outpatient care to heal wounds that resist conventional therapy. Our capabilities include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which can greatly improve healing and reduce healing time for some patients.

The Wounds We Treat

We provide care for chronic, non-healing wounds that have not shown improvement in four weeks or have failed to heal within eight weeks. These include:

  • Diabetic ulcers.
  • Ulcers on ischemic limbs (poor circulation).
  • Pressure ulcers due to immobility.
  • Venous stasis leg ulcers.

A Specialized, Interdisciplinary Wound Care Team

Our skilled team evaluates, treats, and helps to prevent your wound from coming back. Our interdisciplinary team includes board-certified physician specialists, a certified diabetes educator and registered nurses who are certified as wound care specialists. All of our diagnostic tests can be done within ChristianaCare, Union Hospital.

Our staff and physicians will coordinate your primary care physician to obtain any necessary information and routinely communicate how your treatment is progressing.

We Work With Your Insurance to Get the Wound Care You Need

We will work collaboratively with your insurance company to get you the care you need. We encourage you to check with your insurance regarding referrals or preauthorization.
