Surgical Unit

The Surgical Unit at Union Hospital is a beautiful, newly structured 24 bed unit, which opened in January 2007. All patient rooms are private with the exception of four, very spacious semi-private rooms. The unit is designed to provide 24-hour care for surgical patients, primarily adults age 18 and older, in the following categories: Joint Camp; surgical; and overflow of medical, general and geriatrics. The unit is capable of monitoring up to 8 non-critical cardiac patients via cardiac telemetry, transmitted to the master unit in PCU for 24-hour surveillance. Computer documentation is used along with electronic scanning of all medications.
