Float Pool
The Float Pool helps provide staffing resources for temporary or permanent vacancies.
Eligibility to work in the float pool
In addition to successfully completing the pre-hire requirements, candidates must demonstrate the following work history:
- Hold a license to work as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Maryland
- Possess a minimum of two years experience in a comparable acute care environment.
- Provide written testament of competency in three out of four areas:
a. Emergency Department (ED)
b. Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
c. Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
d. Medical/Surgical Unit (Med/Surg)
- Be free of disciplinary action within the past year, if a current employee
Participation in the float pool
- 72-hour full-time or 48-hour part-time commitment per pay period with inclusion of 50% of the shifts being off shifts based on hospital needs
- Every other weekend commitment
- Holiday commitment (every other holiday)
- Shift differential is included
- Eligible for benefits and PTO
