| SERVICES | Nuclear Medicine | Thyroid Scan No thyroid medication for 14 days. NO IV contrast in the past 3 weeks (IVP, CT with contrast, myelogram, angiogram). NPO (nothing by mouth) after midnight the night before exam. |
HIDA Scan Fast NPO (nothing by mouth) for at least 4 hours prior to exam. |
CCK HIDA Scan Fast NPO (nothing by mouth) for at least 4 hours prior to exam. Ultrasound scan of gallbladder should be done prior to scan to make sure there are no gallstones. |
Gastric Emptying Scan – GET Scan NPO (nothing by mouth) after midnight the night before exam. Should be done in a.m. only. |
Nuclear Stress Tests (Rest/Stress Myocardial Perfusion) NPO (nothing by mouth) after midnight the night before the exam. Check with your physician about stopping any medications prior to stress test. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. |
