| SERVICES | Nuclear Medicine | Thyroid Scan No thyroid medication for 14 days. NO IV contrast in the past 3 weeks (IVP, CT with contrast, myelogram, angiogram). NPO (nothing by mouth) after midnight the night before exam. | HIDA Scan Fast NPO (nothing by mouth) for at least 4 hours prior to exam. | CCK HIDA Scan Fast NPO (nothing by mouth) for at least 4 hours prior to exam. Ultrasound scan of gallbladder should be done prior to scan to make sure there are no gallstones. | Gastric Emptying Scan – GET Scan NPO (nothing by mouth) after midnight the night before exam. Should be done in a.m. only. | Nuclear Stress Tests (Rest/Stress Myocardial Perfusion) NPO (nothing by mouth) after midnight the night before the exam.
