Adult Day Services
Helping hands for your loved one, peace of mind for you
As the population ages, more area residents are in need of a community-based service to help care for them. When family members can't be left alone during the day, yet they don't require full institutional car, Adult Day Services at Union Hospital can help.
We provide compassionate care and stimulating activity in a secure, structured environment. We welcome clients in need of support services that will help them continue to live independently; people with memory loss; and those who need assistance with day-to-day activities.
A wide array of services
Conveniently located in a 7,500-square-foot facility on Railroad Avenue in Elkton, Adult Day Services at Union Hospital provides:
Health monitoring and coordination of care
Nutritious meals and snacks
Counseling and referral services
Transportation to and from the center
Peace of mind
Our specially trained staff is here when you need us to care for mentally or physically challenged loved ones. In addition to providing social engagement and care for program participants, Adult Day Services at Union Hospital offers caregivers a temporary break from the demands of caregiving, which can sometimes be overwhelming.
The Adult Day Services program at Union Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
We host monthly support groups designed to provide emotional support, tips on managing health impaired adults and information about community resources. You may bring your loved one if you wish - staff is available to provide care while you attend the meeting. For details regarding the Caregiver Support Group and the Alzheimer's Support Group, please see the our Support Groups page.
