As the population ages, more area residents are in need of a community-based service to help care for them. When family members can't be left alone during the day, yet they don't require full institutional car, Adult Day Services at Union Hospital can help.

Compassionate Care

We provide compassionate care and stimulating activity in a secure, structured environment. We welcome clients in need of support services that will help them continue to live independently; people with memory loss; and those who need assistance with day-to-day activities.

A wide array of services

Conveniently located in a 7,500-square-foot facility on Railroad Avenue in Elkton, Adult Day Services at Union Hospital provides:

  • Social activities
  • Health monitoring and coordination of care
  • Nutritious meals and snacks
  • Recreation
  • Therapeutic activities
  • Personal care
  • Counseling and referral services
  • Transportation to and from the center

Peace of mind

Our specially trained staff is here when you need us to care for mentally or physically challenged loved ones. In addition to providing social engagement and care for program participants, Adult Day Services at Union Hospital offers caregivers a temporary break from the demands of caregiving, which can sometimes be overwhelming.

Accredited program

The Adult Day Services program at Union Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Support Groups

We host monthly support groups designed to provide emotional support, tips on managing health impaired adults and information about community resources. You may bring your loved one if you wish - staff is available to provide care while you attend the meeting. Financial assistance is available

Program fees are determined on an individual basis. For those who qualify, financial assistance is available under the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; the Office of Health Services Program; the Union Hospital Medical Assistance Program; and the VA.

Services are provided Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm
